Lequille, N.S. man, 50, arrested on child pornography charges

LEQUILLE, N.S. —  A 50-year-old man from Lequille has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences after a joint RCMP operation.

The RCMP’s Provincial Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, with help from the Annapolis District RCMP, Digby RCMP and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant on July 13, at a home in Lequille.

The operation was initiated following an alert from a social media application that reported the transmission of child pornography on its platform.

Steven Croft is facing one count of possession, transmitting and accessing child pornography each.

He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Annapolis Royal provincial court on Sept. 5.
