Halifax police seeking public help identifying man and woman involved in arm robbery

DARTMOUTH, N.S. — Police in Halifax are turning to the public for help to identify a man and woman following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Dartmouth early Saturday. 

Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery report at the Needs Convenience at 100 Highfield Park Dr. just before 1 a.m. 

Police said a man and woman entered the store and produced a handgun. The man then went behind the counter and stole cigarettes and cash. 

The two fled the store on foot and were last seen running toward the Highfield bus terminal just up the street. 

No one was injured during the incident. 

The man is described as white, standing around six feet tall, with a medium build. 

At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black sweater, a black puffy vest, brown Nike shoes and carrying a black backpack with Canada written on the front. 

The woman was described as white, standing around five feet, two inches tall, with a medium build. 

She was wearing a black hoody with a green logo on the front, black pants, black shoes and large black sunglasses. 

Police ask anyone with information about the incident or the suspects’ identities to call HRP at 902-490-5016 or tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
