Man charged following alleged machete assault at Dartmouth bus terminal

DARTMOUTH, N.S. — A 44-year-old man appeared in Dartmouth provincial court today facing charges stemming from an alleged machete assault at a Halifax Transit stop on Monday.

Halifax Regional Police said when two men who were arguing aboard a bus exited the vehicle at the bridge terminal on Nantucket Avenue around 2:30 p.m., the accused pulled the weapon and attempted to assault the other man.

Officers arrived to arrest the suspect and seize his weapon.

The person was not injured. 

Jeremy Allan Durno has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and possession of a weapon contrary to a court order.
