Man dead after single-vehicle crash in Lunenburg County
RCMP in Lunenburg County are investigating a crash that left one man dead early Wednesday morning.
Cpl. Chris Marshall said police, firefighters and paramedics were called to Highway 10 in Pinehurst, about 20 km north of Bridgewater, at 12:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found a pickup truck in the ditch.
He said the vehicle was heading south when it went out of control, crossed the road and crashed, coming to rest on its roof. Another motorist came upon the scene after it happened.
The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old Indian Path man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was alone in the vehicle.
Highway 10 was shut down for several hours between Goose Chase Road and McKeen Road while a collision reconstructionist worked at the scene. It reopened at about 7:30 a.m.
The investigation is continuing.
