Meet left wing activists fueling anti DOGE protests nationwide

Left-wing groups have been backing anti-DOGE protests across the country, funding various progressive causes such as defunding the police, pushing socialism, anti-Israel protests, and opposing President Donald Trump’s agenda. MoveOn.org, a prominent organization in this movement, has received millions of dollars from George Soros and his Open Society Policy Center, a key backer of left-wing issues in the U.S.

In response to the Trump-Musk agenda, MoveOn.org launched the “Congress Works for Us, Not Musk” initiative to pressure lawmakers. Elon Musk has faced criticism from Soros, especially after former President Joe Biden awarded Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom. MoveOn.org has also received funding from the Sixteen Thirty Fund, which supports progressive causes and is partly backed by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss.

MoveOn.org has actively called for defunding the police and has been a vocal opponent of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They have promoted the abolition of ICE, claiming it was built to terrorize Black and brown communities. The group has been accused of holding events to villainize Republicans and obstruct their work.

Another group involved in protests against Musk’s DOGE efforts is the Working Families Party (WFP), known for its progressive stance. WFP has organized protests in multiple states, criticizing the GOP’s plans to cut Medicaid, Medicare, and abolish the Department of Education. The group has supported the progressive “Squad” in Congress and advocated for defunding the police and ending cash bail.

Indivisible, a grassroots progressive organization, has urged activists to protest House lawmakers during recess to challenge their complicity in Trump and Musk’s agenda. The group was formed to resist the Trump administration’s policies and has supported defunding the police and abolishing ICE.

Critics argue that these left-wing groups are funded by mega-donors to push a radical agenda and distract from their failed record. The involvement of Soros and other wealthy donors in funding these protests raises concerns about the authenticity of grassroots movements. The influence of these organizations in shaping progressive politics and activism is a subject of ongoing debate.
