US Election 2024

Eric Adams dispels rumors he’s joining the Trump admin: ‘I’m running’

New York City Mayor Eric Adams made it clear during a recent press conference that he is not backing down from his bid for re-election. Despite facing tough competition from Democratic Party nominee Zohran Mamdani and former Governor Andrew Cuomo, Adams is determined to stay in the race.

Adams, who was elected as a Democrat in 2022 but is now running as an independent, criticized Mamdani and Cuomo, calling them “spoiled brats” and accusing Cuomo of pushing black candidates out of races. He emphasized his working-class background and contrasted it with the privileged upbringing of his opponents.

Addressing rumors about possibly joining the Trump administration, Adams denied any such plans and reaffirmed his commitment to running for re-election. Although trailing behind Mamdani in the polls, Adams remains confident in his ability to win over voters and continue the progress the city has seen under his leadership.

Despite the challenges ahead, Adams is determined to secure another term as mayor and serve the city he loves. He remains focused on connecting with New Yorkers and making his case for why he is the best candidate for the job. With a strong message of perseverance and dedication, Adams is ready to fight for another four years in office.
