Nova Scotia RCMP say a person is dead after a house fire in Porters Lake, N.S., on Friday night.

In a news release Sunday, police said first responders were called to Myra Road around 10 p.m. to respond to reports of a structure fire.

The residence was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived, the release said. Police said the home was destroyed.

The body of a person was found at the scene, but police would not provide any further details.

It’s too early to determine whether the fire was suspicious, police said. The fire marshal’s office and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service are assisting the investigation, the release said.
