17 illegal migrants found from cramped into RV, sedan in sweltering Arizona

A shocking incident of human smuggling was uncovered in Arizona, as 17 illegal migrants were found crammed inside an RV and a nearby sedan in the sweltering heat. The majority of the migrants, all from Mexico, were discovered inside the cramped RV parked on a property in Nogales, with temperatures soaring under the summer sun. Chief Patrol Agent Sean L. McGoffin, of Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, highlighted the dire conditions faced by the individuals, including limited space, ventilation, and no access to running water.

“These individuals were packed into these vehicles without proper ventilation or water, which is a recipe for disaster, especially in the scorching summer temperatures,” McGoffin stated. The rescue operation was crucial in preventing a potential tragedy, as human lives should never be treated as cargo. The rescued migrants, including a minor, are now safe and in custody, awaiting processing in accordance with U.S. immigration law.

The U.S. citizen responsible for the human smuggling attempt was apprehended by authorities after attempting to flee the scene on foot. Investigators are currently working to determine if others were involved in the operation. The joint effort by Nogales Border Patrol, Nogales Police, and Homeland Security Investigations was instrumental in uncovering and addressing this heinous crime.

The squalid conditions inside the RV, littered with trash and devoid of any semblance of comfort, paint a grim picture of the inhumane treatment faced by the migrants. McGoffin emphasized the dangers faced by illegal aliens at the hands of smugglers, with no regard for their well-being or safety.
