2 Venezuelan illegal aliens kidnapped, tried to kill Washington state woman: authorities

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed detainers on two illegal aliens from Venezuela, one of whom is believed to have ties to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. These individuals were charged with kidnapping, robbery, and attempted murder in King County, Washington.

According to law enforcement officials, Kevin Daniel Sanabria Ojeda, 24, and Alexander Moises Arnaez-Gutierrez, 25, are Venezuelan illegal immigrants. ICE has taken action by placing detainers on both suspects with local authorities.

The incident took place on January 21st when Sanabria Ojeda and Arnaez-Gutierrez allegedly kidnapped a woman in Burien, Washington. They forced her into a vehicle, fired a gun during the struggle, and used a power drill to access her phone and bank accounts. The suspects then threatened to kill her and her family before driving her to Kittitas County, where they shot her and left her for dead on the side of Interstate 90.

Fortunately, the victim survived by climbing over a retaining wall and flagging down help after about 15 minutes. She was taken to a hospital, where she recounted the harrowing ordeal to detectives. She mentioned that she believed the men had killed her after shooting her, and she had to play dead after being struck in the shoulder.

With the help of the FBI, Sanabria Ojeda was located at a motel in Illinois. Police arrested him and found jewelry belonging to the kidnapped woman in his possession. Sanabria Ojeda admitted to his involvement in the kidnapping, vehicle theft, robbery, and attempted murder.

Arnaez-Gutierrez was arrested by Mercer Island Police during a traffic stop. The King County Sheriff’s Office has noted that one of the suspects has probable ties to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
