This year had its challenging moments, as Nova Scotians felt the wrath of nature’s fury with wildfires at one moment and record flooding the next.

Staff photojournalist Tim Krochak documented many of these events, along with some of the lighter moments in Nova Scotia in 2023. Here is a selection of some of his best pictures of 2023.
