3 men convicted in 2021 death of Yarmouth man

According to police, three men have been convicted of the 2021 death of a man from Yarmouth, NS.

Three men have been convicted and sentenced the death of a Yarmouth, NS, man according to the police in 2021.
On 24 May 2021, RCMP in Yarmouth was called to a home on King Street to respond to a report of a man being shot.
Officers found 41-year-old Kyle Van Drunen outside the home with a gunshot wound. He died on the spot.
Three men were charged.
RCMP said on Tuesday that James Spurrell pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a firearm on June 23 and was sentenced to five years in prison.
According to police, Gordon Hein pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon on June 8 and was sentenced to six years in prison for that crime and for other crimes committed in 2020 and 2021. Hein was charged with pepper spraying Van Drunen after he was shot but before he died.
On March 30, Herbert Spurrell subsequently pleaded guilty to complicity and was sentenced to two years in prison at a county facility.
