Some Lay’s Classic Potato Chips recalled in U.S. due to potential milk allergen

Frito-Lay Issues Recall of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips for Undeclared Milk
Frito-Lay has issued a recall of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips sold in the U.S. and online due to the potential presence of undeclared milk. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration posted the company’s announcement, warning that individuals with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product.
The affected product is the 13-ounce (368.5 gram) bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips with a “guaranteed fresh” date of Feb. 11, 2025, and manufacturing codes 6462307xx or 6463307xx. These chips were distributed to stores and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington.
Consumers may have purchased the affected chips as early as Nov. 3. While no allergic reactions related to the recall have been reported, the company was alerted to the issue through a consumer contact. It is important to note that no other Lay’s products are affected by this recall.
If you have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, it is crucial that you do not consume the recalled product. Frito-Lay advises consumers to discard the chips immediately.
