A 42-year-old man died Saturday after a single-vehicle accident near Digby, NS. Officers responded to a report of an accident on Highway 217 in Central Grove around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

A 42-year-old man died Saturday following a single-vehicle car accident near Digby, NS, according to a press release from the RCMP.

Officers responded to a report of an accident on Highway 217 in Central Grove around 5:30 a.m.

According to police, a car left the road and came to rest in a ditch.

The Scotch Village man was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A damage repairman has been on site and is conducting further investigation.

Highway 217 was closed for hours, but has since reopened.
