Hallmark Channel Announces Special Christmas Cruise

The Hallmark Channel, known for its made-for-TV holiday movies, is getting into the cruise business. The cable television network announced Tuesday that it is launching a Christmas cruise, featuring Hallmark stars and special Christmas experiences.

The four-day tour, departing from Miami and sailing to the Bahamas, is billed as a “first of its kind” opportunity for Hallmark fans to experience the signature vacation magic at sea.

“We hear time and time again that people want to immerse themselves in the world of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies and this venture is sure to bring our brand to life in a new, exciting way,” said Natalie Vandergast, Vice President of Consumer Products, in a press release. .

Created in partnership with immersive festival organizer Sixthman, the cruise is expected to depart from November 5-9, 2024 aboard the Norwegian Gem. The Christmas-themed cruise includes special crafts, interactive activities with Hallmark stars, and the world premiere of a new Hallmark Channel movie “Countdown to Christmas.”

Hallmark’s new vacation offerings come as the cruise industry roars back from the pandemic, which has nearly gutted the industry. By the end of this year, the Cruise Lines Industry Association expects global passenger traffic to reach 106 percent of 2019 levels.

Other activities on the Hallmark Channel Christmas Cruise include a special tree-lighting ceremony as the ship sails, wine tastings, an ugly sweater contest, cookie decorating, and a Christmas carol.

“Loyal fans will celebrate timeless Hallmark Channel Christmas traditions and create new ones with their families, a shipload of Hallmarkies and the holiday stars of Hallmark Channel,” added Jeff Cuellar, vice president of events, marketing and community at Sixthman.
