Kings County search finds no evidence of human remains in Kenley Matheson missing person case

WOLFVILLE, N.S. — A search for missing person Kenley Matheson in Kings County has concluded without finding any evidence of human remains.

The search on Melanson Mountain near Wolfville began Aug. 23 and involved the RCMP, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, Acadia University’s earth and environmental science department, and St. Thomas University’s anthropology department. 

The search was launched after a cadaver dog identified the area.

However, no human remains were found, and no evidence suggested that a body had been deposited at the site, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

Police said Matheson’s family has been updated on the outcome of the search.

Matheson, an Acadia student from Cape Breton, was last seen walking on Main Street in Wolfville on Sept. 21, 1992.
