HALIFAX, N.S. — People gathered on a cold Wednesday morning to commenmorate the 106th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion at the Bell Tower in Fort Needham Park in the city’s north end.
The 1917 disaster that devastated the city, killing over 1,700 people and injuring 9,000 more.
