A 90-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after a head-on collision in James River, N.S.

RCMP say SUV collided with tractor-trailer on Highway 4 in James River

A 90-year old man from Heatherton, N.S., was pronounced dead at the scene after a head-on collision in Antigonish County on Monday.

The RCMP said in a news release that a Nissan Murano SUV was driving eastbound on Highway 4 in James River when it crossed the centre line.

The SUV collided head-on with a westbound tractor-trailer after negotiating a curve. Police say the 50-year old Westville man driving the semi was not physically injured. 

The RCMP are continuing to investigate the collision.
