Abigail Strate blooming on Grand Prix Ski-Jumping Circuit after another bronze Sunday

Wisla, Poland -Canada’s Abigail Strate is not shy to admit that she enjoys the summer sun, but never found her mojo on ski -spring towers around the world when the flowers are in full bloom during the summer Grand Prix season.

That has all changed in the last two weeks, because the 24-year-old ski-jumping Rockstar blooms itself in the air.

The Calgaran landed on the bronze-medal step of the stage in Wisla, Poland with 116.4 points on Sunday.

“I am definitely a summer person,” said Strate. “I love the sun and I always like to jump in the summer. The last time I jumped well in the summer, it was implemented all year round, so hopefully this is a good omen for me.”

The Nika PrevC of Slovenia completed the Golden Sweep in Poland and won with 126.2 points. The Japanese Nozomi Maruyama covered strate for the silver with 117.5 points. The Nicole Maurer from Canada was 26th.

The world’s best ladies’ streams each of the last two Sunday participated in a new spectators -friendly format. In the first round, athletes jumped in groups of five with the top two in each group that improved to the second round. Each of the top 20 competitors who returned to the top of the hill started with zero points for the second round.

Regardless of the size, the strate of Canada is prepared and ready to rise.

“At the moment it feels a bit similar to when I got the (three straight) World Cup stages, but it doesn’t feel so unexpected,” she said. “I know the jumps are good and I am convinced that they will continue to be good. It is not only happening in competition. I am now always in the top three or four in official training and qualifications.”

Strate has flown into a new stratosphere over the past two weekends, while achieving four straight stage finishes, including her very first victory, to join three bronze medals. She is only the second Canadian ski jumper who is once in two consecutive events on back-to-back weekend medal. Her 2022 Olympic bronze medal-winning teammate, Alex Loutitt, rattled four straight bronze medals on the Summer Grand Prix 2023.

“This is so nice in my heart and I have a lot of positive emotions,” Strate added. “It feels great now, but I know this is not when I want to be great. I really hope this can last until the beginning of winter and through the season.”

The new approach of Strate in its flight route this season to the Winter Olympics of 2026 in February pays off.

“I feel like I have the jump in a different way. I now see the jump as a whole, so it’s a different mental approach. I do a lot of visualization and mental preparation, so by the time I try the jump, I have the feeling that I have done it 10 times,” Strate said.

“I decided this year that I am LA
