Deportation Error: Abrego Garcia Facing Removal to Uganda After Rejecting Plea

Lawyers representing Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran National currently facing federal human smuggling charges, have raised concerns that American authorities are considering deporting him to Uganda after he declined an offer to plead and be deported to Costa Rica.

On August 22, Abrego Garcia was released from a prison in Tennessee following a federal court decision that allowed him to reunite with his family in Maryland for a limited period of 48 hours, following a stay of an order that granted him pre-trial release.
