Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Salvadorian migrant caught in the crosshairs of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, is set to report to the ICE Field Office in Baltimore on Monday. His attorneys have informed Fox News Digital that he is expected to be arrested and deported to Uganda.

This development marks the end of a lengthy legal battle over Abrego Garcia’s status, involving multiple court hearings and federal judges in Tennessee and Maryland.

The Department of Justice alleges that Abrego Garcia is a member of the El Salvadoran gang MS-13 and was apprehended in Tennessee while driving a van filled with illegal migrants. His wife has also accused him of domestic violence. However, supporters argue that he is a hard-working father unfairly targeted by the administration.

Despite a judge ruling that the government lacked sufficient evidence linking him to MS-13, Abrego Garcia is now facing deportation to a third country due to safety concerns in El Salvador.

In a recent twist, the Justice Department offered to send him to Costa Rica in exchange for a guilty plea to human smuggling charges. Abrego Garcia rejected the offer, leading to further legal maneuvers by his defense team.

His attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the criminal case, alleging vindictive prosecution by the Trump administration. They claim that the government pressured Abrego Garcia to accept the plea deal, with the alternative being deportation to Uganda.

Despite the ongoing legal battles, Abrego Garcia’s fate hangs in the balance as he prepares to face ICE officials in Baltimore.
