Alberta MLA wants province to follow through on COVID-19 report recommendations ‘immediately’

Alberta MLA Eric Bouchard recently expressed his support for the recommendations made in the provincial COVID-19 task force report, which was led by Dr. Gary Davidson. Bouchard, who has been vocal about his concerns regarding COVID mRNA vaccines for children, emphasized the importance of implementing the report’s findings, starting with halting the use of mRNA vaccinations for children in Alberta.
The $2-million dollar report, which was released on the Alberta government’s website, delved into how data and information influenced the province’s COVID-19 response. Among its key recommendations were calls to immediately halt the use of all COVID-19 vaccines without full disclosure of potential risks, as well as preventing healthy children and teenagers from receiving COVID shots.
Bouchard, who shared news of the report’s completion on social media, described the findings as “shocking” and long overdue. He highlighted the need for more dialogue surrounding the data presented in the report, rather than dismissing it as anti-science.
In response to the report, Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi criticized the premier for potentially implementing the findings, which he claimed would remove medical choice from Albertans and take away life-saving vaccines. Nenshi also questioned the timing of the report’s release, accusing the government of trying to quietly disclose the information.
Despite the controversy surrounding the report, a spokesperson for the health minister stated that the government is reviewing the findings and has not made any decisions based on the recommendations. Dr. James Talbot, Alberta’s former chief medical officer of health, emphasized the importance of releasing key vaccine statistics to address concerns about the safety of COVID vaccines.
Overall, the release of the provincial COVID-19 task force report has sparked debate and raised questions about the government’s response to the pandemic. As discussions continue, it remains to be seen how Alberta will proceed with the recommendations outlined in the report.
