Alex Soros and Huma Abedin hold star-studded engagement party at Anna Wintour’s home: Photos

Celebrities and media figures gathered in New York City on Wednesday night to celebrate the engagement of liberal mega donor Alex Soros and former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. The engagement party took place at the SoHo home of Vogue executive Anna Wintour and was attended by notable guests such as former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Hollywood couple Adrian Brody and Georgina Chapman, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, and media mogul Barry Diller.

Soros and Abedin announced their engagement on social media earlier this summer, with Soros sharing a photo of himself proposing on one knee. The couple’s relationship became public earlier this year when Abedin posted a Valentine’s Day photo of them together in Paris.

Abedin, a longtime aide to Hillary Clinton, has been a key figure in Democratic politics for years. She worked for Clinton in various capacities, including as a top aide in the State Department, the Clinton Foundation, and Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. She also joined MSNBC in 2022.

The engagement of Abedin and Soros comes seven years after Abedin separated from her first husband, disgraced Democratic politician Anthony Weiner. She filed for divorce in 2017, but it was not finalized until years later.

Soros, 39, has been in the spotlight since taking control of his father’s Open Society Foundations in 2023. He has been actively involved in Democratic politics, meeting with top officials, including former President Clinton, Pope Francis, and President Biden. Soros has visited the White House at least 20 times and frequently posts photos with leading Democrats on social media.
