Annapolis County man, 36, arrested on child pornography charges
NICTAUX, N.S. — A 36-year-old man from Nictaux has been arrested and charged with child pornography offences after a joint operation by the RCMP.
The RCMP’s Provincial Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, with help from the Annapolis District RCMP, Kings District RCMP and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant on Aug. 10, at a home in Nictaux.
The operation was initiated following an alert from a social media application that reported the transmission of child pornography on its platform.
Patrick Ciappara is facing two counts each of possessing and transmitting child pornography and one count of creating child pornography in the form of written material. He was released on conditions and is slated to appear in Annapolis Royal provincial court on Oct. 23.
