Alouettes Qb Evans offside because Montreal 36-18 losses for BC Lions

The Montreal Alouettes faced a setback in their recent game against the BC Lions when quarterback Caleb Evans suffered a knee injury, forcing him to leave the game early. The 27-year-old American was replaced by James Morgan, who made an impressive showing with 211 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Head coach Jason Maas confirmed that Evans will miss the upcoming game against the Toronto Argonauts, but his long-term prognosis remains uncertain. This injury adds to the quarterback woes for the Alouettes, as both their starting quarterback Davis Alexander and backup McLeod Bethel-Thompson are currently on the injured list.
Despite the unfortunate injury, Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke expressed sympathy for Evans, acknowledging the hard work and preparation that goes into every game. Rourke himself had a stellar performance, throwing for 382 yards and four touchdowns in the game.
The Lions dominated the game, with receiver Keon Hatcher scoring two touchdowns and kicker Sean Whyte making four field goals. The Alouettes struggled to capitalize in the red zone, leading to a 36-18 victory for the Lions.
BC’s head coach Buck Pierce emphasized the need to clean up penalties, as the team was called 12 times for a total of 137 yards. With playoffs in sight, the Lions need to focus on playing cleaner football in the upcoming games.
In other news, former Linebacker Solomon Elimimian will have his number retired on October 4 when the Lions host the Calgary Stampeders. The Lions will next face the Toronto Argonauts on August 23, while the Alouettes will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday.
