Over the weekend, Canada’s national team captain, Alphonso Davies, suffered a hamstring injury during Bayern Munich’s 4-2 victory against FC Heidenheim 1846 in Bundesliga action.
Following the match, Bayern Munich confirmed that Davies, alongside French winger Kingsley Coman, both sustained left hamstring strains and will be out of action for the foreseeable future.
Davies, a talented 24-year-old left back hailing from Edmonton, has represented Canada on 56 occasions, contributing 16 goals and 17 assists to the national team. With his contract with Bayern Munich set to expire at the end of the season, Davies has been the subject of transfer speculation linking him to other elite clubs across Europe.
