‘America has DOGE fever’: States from NJ to TX draft similar initiatives as federal leaders celebrate

The DOGE fever has spread like wildfire across the country, with several states jumping on the bandwagon to implement DOGE-centric legislation and bureaucracies. Spearheaded by Elon Musk and lawmakers like Sen. Joni Ernst and Rep. Aaron Bean, the movement has gained momentum and support from both sides of the aisle.

Bean, chair of the bipartisan DOGE Caucus, expressed his excitement over the growing interest in DOGE initiatives, stating that “America has DOGE fever.” He emphasized the importance of being good stewards of taxpayer dollars and eliminating wasteful spending through efficient government practices.

In New Jersey, Garden State Republicans have proposed a plan to bring DOGE to the state, citing the need for accountability in budget allocation and fiscal responsibility. Assemblymen Alex Sauickie and Christopher DePhillips introduced Resolution 213 to create the NJ Delegation on Government Efficiency within the Treasury Department, drawing inspiration from former President Ronald Reagan’s views on government spending.

Kentucky lawmakers have also prioritized government efficiency measures, with Rep. Jared Bauman introducing a bill to modernize the state treasury’s tax collections and accounting processes. In Texas, Senate President Pro-Tempore Brandon Creighton led the passage of a DEI ban, setting the stage for DOGE-centric initiatives in the state.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced a bill called “Texas DOGE – Improving Government Efficiency,” aimed at streamlining government processes and maximizing taxpayer dollars. State Sen. Bryan Hughes proposed the creation of a DOGE office in the executive branch, while the Texas House considers forming a DOGE committee to analyze government efficiency.

Missouri, New Hampshire, and North Carolina have also joined the DOGE movement, with lawmakers in each state launching initiatives to improve government efficiency and eliminate wasteful spending. From forming standing committees to creating commissions, these states are committed to aligning with federal efforts to enhance government operations.

While some in Congress have expressed skepticism about DOGE, Rep. Bean commended the collective efforts of states in picking up the DOGE baton. He emphasized the importance of improving government efficiency and preventing the abuse of taxpayer dollars through collaborative initiatives at both the state and federal levels.

Overall, the DOGE fever shows no signs of slowing down, with states across the country embracing the principles of efficiency, accountability, and conservative results in government operations. As the movement continues to gain traction, taxpayers can expect to see positive changes in how their hard-earned money is spent and allocated.
