American Airlines passenger restrained, knocked down on New York-bound flight

An American Airlines passenger caused chaos onboard Flight 950 from São Paulo, Brazil, to New York City on April 24. Shocking footage captured the moment when the passenger attempted to storm the aircraft’s cockpit, leading to airline staff restraining her.

The video shows the woman being forcefully held outside the pilot’s cockpit, with one employee grabbing her shirt and another passenger intervening by yelling in Portuguese. The incident unfolded in the first-class cabin of the plane, with both the man and woman shouting at employees as they tried to regain control of the situation. Eventually, both passengers were removed from the flight.

The flight, destined for John F. Kennedy International Airport, had to return to the gate before takeoff due to the security issue onboard. American Airlines emphasized that the safety and security of customers and team members are their top priorities and expressed gratitude for the understanding of passengers.

Law enforcement met the plane, and it departed again at 12:55 a.m. In a similar incident last November, another unruly passenger on an American Airlines flight from Milwaukee to Texas caused a disruption, resulting in injury to a crew member and the passenger being taken into custody.

This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of air travel and the importance of stringent security measures. Passengers and crew members alike must remain vigilant and prepared to handle any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during flights.
