Andrew Garfield says he won’t be apart of ‘Spider-Man 4’

Andrew Garfield recently addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his potential involvement in the fourth installment of Marvel’s “Spider-Man” franchise. In an interview with GQ U.K., the “We Live in Time” actor clarified that he has not signed on for the upcoming film, stating, “I’m gonna disappoint you… But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”

This isn’t the first time Garfield has been caught up in rumors about his role in a Spider-Man movie. Last year, he denied his appearance in Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” only to surprise fans with a cameo in the film. In “No Way Home,” Garfield reprised his role as Spider-Man from the “The Amazing Spider-Man” series, joining forces with Tobey Maguire, who played the iconic hero in the early 2000s.

The inclusion of Garfield and Maguire in “No Way Home” was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from fans, propelling the film to become the highest-grossing movie of 2021. Despite the success, Garfield remains humble about his potential return as Spider-Man, stating in an interview with Esquire that he would only consider reprising the role if it added value to the franchise and offered a unique and exciting concept.

While Garfield has not confirmed his return as Spider-Man, he expressed openness to participating in another large-scale franchise if the opportunity aligns with his values and provides a fun experience. As he jokingly mentioned, “Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”
