Armed home invasion in Cole Harbour, N.S. sends man to hospital

COLE HARBOUR, N.S. — Mounties are searching for one suspect after an armed home invasion turned violent in Cole Harbour, N.S. on Saturday night.

Halifax District RCMP said officers were called to a home on Bissett Road shortly after 10 p.m.

Police said a man and woman were in their home when two men entered, one armed with what appeared to be a handgun.

A physical altercation took place and one of the men who entered the home was knocked unconscious on the floor.

The other man, described as white with a slim build, and wearing a face covering, fled the residence in an unknown direction before police arrived.

Halifax Regional Police Dog Services attended the scene, however, the man was not found.

The unconscious man was taken to the hospital by EHS with an apparent life-threatening injury.

RCMP Forensic Identification Services attended the home and conducted a forensic examination of the scene.

No arrest have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
