Around 2,600 customers without electricity near Mic Mac Mall after power line catches fire
A small fire caused by a downed power line on Sea King Drive in Halifax resulted in an outage affecting around 2,600 Nova Scotia Power customers near Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth. The incident, which occurred at 8:48 a.m. AT on Sunday, prompted a response from Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency crews, who quickly extinguished the flames.
District Chief Drew MacCulloch explained that Nova Scotia Power crews arrived on the scene and promptly shut off the power to address the issue. As a result of the outage, the mall was forced to temporarily close its doors to customers.
