Bedford man under house arrest on charges of groping women charged in new incident
A Bedford man who was on bail after being charged with sexual assault and harassment of women almost a year ago has been arrested again for allegedly groping a woman.
On July 19, police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred on July 12.
A woman told police she was in the area of Tilbury Avenue and Innsbrook Way in Halifax at about 10 a.m. when a man who she didn’t know walked up and spoke briefly with her before groping her and running away.
On July 21, police arrested Mohammad Jamal Shned Al-Dulaimi, 19, in Halifax without incident. He was charged with sexual assault and five counts of failing to comply with a court order.
He appeared in court July 26 and will be back in court Aug. 10 for a possible bail hearing.
Al-Dulaimi was 18 when he was arrested last August 29 and charged with six counts of sexual assault and seven of criminal harassment for a series of incidents in Bedford between Aug. 3 and 27, 2022.
Those incidents – involving nine complainants — occurred on the Kearney Lake Dam Trail, on a trail in the 0-100 block of Amesbury Gate near Larry Uteck Boulevard, and at the Broad Street apartment building where Al-Dulaimi lives with his family.
He was released on bail on Sept. 15 under house arrest, and with conditions that he only leave the apartment for medical emergencies or appointments, counselling, legal commitments or when in the “immediate physical presence” of one of his parents.
He was also banned from going to any public parks, jogging or hiking trails or pathways in the province.
His trial on the charges from last year is scheduled for five days starting Dec. 4.
