Beyoncé leads with 11 nominations for 2025 Grammy Awards
Welcome to the world of Beyoncé, where she reigns supreme with her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” leading the pack with 11 Grammy Award nominations for the upcoming 2025 ceremony. With a career total of 99 nominations, Beyoncé has solidified her status as the most-nominated artist in Grammy history.
“Cowboy Carter” has been recognized in categories such as album of the year and country album of the year, while her hit single “Texas Hold ‘Em” has garnered nominations for record, song, and country song of the year. Beyoncé’s versatility shines through as she is also nominated in genres ranging from pop to Americana to melodic rap performance.
This year marks Beyoncé’s first foray into the country and Americana categories, breaking new ground in her storied career. Previously tied with her husband Jay-Z for most career nominations at 88, Beyoncé now stands alone at the top of the Grammy nomination leaderboard.
If Beyoncé secures the album of the year win, she will make history as the first Black woman to do so in the 21st century. The last Black woman to win in this category was Lauryn Hill in 1999 for “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
Joining Beyoncé in the spotlight is Post Malone, who has received his first nominations in the country categories for his debut country album, “F-1 Trillion.” Malone’s collaboration with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help” has also earned him nominations for country song and country duo/group performance.
Not far behind Beyoncé is Post Malone, with seven nominations, tying with Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Charli XCX, who has earned her first solo artist nominations. Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us” is up for record and song of the year, rap song, music video, as well as best rap performance, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan each have six nominations, adding to the diverse mix of artists recognized at this year’s Grammy Awards. The album of the year category features a range of genres, from Andre 3000’s alt-jazz album “New Blue Sun” to Jacob Collier’s “Djesse Vol. 4” and Charli XCX’s rave-ready “BRAT.”
Recording Academy CEO and President Harvey Mason Jr. praises the variety of genres represented in this year’s nominations, attributing it to the active and evolving voting body of the Academy. The final round of Grammy voting will take place in December, with the winners announced at the live ceremony in February.
