Biden mental decline cover-up investigation deepens with more staff to testify

The House Oversight Committee is ramping up its investigation into allegations of a cover-up surrounding former President Joe Biden’s mental decline and potential unauthorized executive actions. Nine former senior White House officials have agreed to testify in the coming weeks, shedding light on key decisions made within Biden’s inner circle.
Among those scheduled to appear for transcribed interviews are Ronald Klain, former chief of staff under Biden; Steve Ricchetti, former counselor to the president; Mike Donilon, former senior advisor to the president; Bruce Reed, former deputy chief of staff for policy; and Anita Dunn, former senior advisor to the president for communications. Additionally, former high-ranking officials Ashley Williams and Annie Tomasini will also be voluntarily interviewed.
However, not all former Biden officials have agreed to testify voluntarily. Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician, and Anthony Bernal, a former assistant to the president and senior advisor to the first lady, have been subpoenaed to appear for depositions.
The Oversight Committee’s investigation aims to uncover any attempts to conceal Biden’s mental decline and any potential abuse of executive authority by senior White House officials. Chair James Comer, R-Ky., has been vocal about the need to hold those responsible for any cover-up or unauthorized actions accountable.
Comer has issued letters to former Biden White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House chief of staff Jeff Zients, former senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, and former special assistant to the president Ian Sams, demanding their presence for transcribed interviews. These officials are believed to have critical information regarding decision-making within the previous administration.
The committee is concerned that a long-term strategy may have been in place to hide Biden’s condition or carry out his duties without his consent. Comer has set interview dates for late August and early September, urging the former officials to comply voluntarily or face subpoenas.
The investigation into Biden’s mental decline and potential abuse of executive power is ongoing, with the committee determined to uncover the truth behind these allegations. Stay tuned for updates as more information is revealed during these upcoming testimonies.
