Biological mother of Connecticut man held captive in house of horrors speaks out

The shocking case of a man allegedly held captive for 20 years by his stepmother in Waterbury, Connecticut, has captured the attention of the nation. Tracy Vallerand, the biological mother of the victim, spoke out against the accused woman, Kimberly Sullivan, in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.

Vallerand, who lost custody of her son when he was just 6 months old, did not hold back in her criticism of Sullivan, referring to her as the “lowest of the low.” She expressed her disbelief that Sullivan was released on bail and labeled her as a flight risk. Vallerand emphasized the need for justice for her son, who is now 32 years old and trying to rebuild his life after the traumatic ordeal.

The victim, who has chosen to remain anonymous and only goes by the initial “S,” was allegedly locked in a small closet without access to basic necessities for two decades. He was malnourished and weighed only 68 pounds when he was rescued after setting fire to the home. Sullivan faces charges of assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, cruelty to persons, and reckless endangerment.

Vallerand revealed that she had tried to reconnect with her son throughout his childhood, but was prevented from doing so by his father, Kregg Sullivan, who passed away last year. She expressed relief that her son was alive and emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the crimes committed against him.

In a statement released through his attorney, “S” thanked the healthcare professionals and first responders who have supported him in his recovery. He also called for cooperation with authorities and respect for his privacy as the legal process unfolds.
