Body of Navy Seaman Resendiz found in Norfolk woods, sailor detained
Navy officials in Norfolk, Virginia discovered the body of missing Navy Seaman Angelina Resendiz in a wooded area. The 21-year-old was last seen on May 29 at her barracks in Miller Hall on Naval Station Norfolk. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) revealed that a Navy Sailor has been confined in connection with Resendiz’s death, with charges pending under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
NCIS, along with various law enforcement agencies, has been working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding Resendiz’s disappearance. The agency emphasized its commitment to ensuring accountability and justice in the case.
Resendiz’s mother, Esmeralda Castle, described her daughter as a loving and kind individual. Resendiz, a culinary specialist for the Navy, had not responded to calls or texts from her family, which was out of character. She did not drive or have a vehicle, and was reported missing after failing to show up for work.
