Boston councilwoman reacts to Tom Homan’s promise to “bring hell” to Beantown

Boston City Council Member Calls Out Border Czar Tom Homan for Threatening to Enforce Trump’s Border Policy
In a fiery social media post, Boston City Council Member Sharon Durkan slammed Border Czar Tom Homan for his threats to enforce President Donald Trump’s border policy in Beantown. Homan had recently vowed to “bring hell” to Boston after Police Commissioner Michael Cox reaffirmed the city’s sanctuary policies.
“You said you doubled down on not helping the law enforcement officers of ICE. I’m coming to Boston, and I’m bringing hell with me,” Homan declared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He criticized Boston for releasing nine child rapists back into the streets instead of honoring ICE detainers.
Durkan wasted no time in firing back at Homan, ridiculing his limited experience as a police officer in a small New York village. She called his promises to enforce Trump’s border policy “laughable” and emphasized that Boston doesn’t scare easily.
Commissioner Cox, who has served with distinction in Boston, reiterated that the city does not enforce ICE detainers as per Massachusetts law. Despite ICE’s recent arrests of criminal migrants, including MS-13 gang members, Boston remains steadfast in its sanctuary policies.
In response to Homan’s threats, Durkan emphasized that Boston stands by its commitment to public safety and integrity. She praised Cox for earning the trust of the community and reiterated that Boston will not waver in its stance on immigration enforcement.
As the debate between local officials and federal authorities continues, the clash between Boston’s sanctuary policies and Trump’s border enforcement agenda remains at the forefront. Durkan’s bold stance against Homan’s threats underscores the city’s unwavering commitment to its values and the protection of all residents.
As the situation unfolds, Boston residents can expect ongoing discussions and debates surrounding immigration enforcement and the city’s sanctuary policies. The clash between federal and local authorities highlights the complexities of immigration enforcement and the importance of upholding community values in the face of external pressure.
