Brady Oliveira leads Winnipeg Blue Bombers to 26-13 victory over wrestling Montreal Alouettes

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers continued their winning streak with a 26-13 victory over the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday evening. Despite facing adversity with injuries to key players, the Bombers managed to secure the win thanks to a standout performance by Brady Oliveira.

Oliveira ran through the Montreal defense for a total of 210 yards, leading the Bombers to victory. His dominant display included a crucial touchdown in the fourth quarter, solidifying Winnipeg’s lead. Quarterback Zach Collaros also had a strong showing, passing for 263 yards and one touchdown.

The Alouettes, plagued by injuries and forced to start fourth-string QB James Morgan, struggled to contain Oliveira and the Bombers’ offense. Montreal’s losing streak extended to four games as they fell to 1-6 without their franchise quarterback, Davis Alexander.

Despite the challenges, Morgan remained resilient, acknowledging the difficulties of the situation but maintaining a positive attitude. The Alouettes’ offense showed flashes of potential, with Alexander Hollins leading the receiving yards and Tyler Snead finding the end zone.

The Bombers’ strong performance was attributed to Oliveira’s exceptional play and the cohesive effort of the team. Head coach Mike O’Shea praised the offensive line for their role in Oliveira’s success and highlighted the team’s ability to overcome obstacles.

Looking ahead, the Alouettes will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after a bye week, while the Bombers will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders in their next matchup. Both teams will aim to build on their performances and continue their pursuit of success in the CFL.
