Brave dog Doodle chases bear intruder out of California home

Monrovia resident Zoë Cadman shared video footage on social media of a large bear prowling around her backyard before making its way into her home late at night on June 14.
The unexpected visitor was seen casually wandering through Cadman’s kitchen, inspecting items before coming face-to-face with the homeowner’s 17-year-old dog named Doodle, as reported by KTLA. Despite Cadman waking up to find the black bear in her kitchen, it was Doodle who took charge and chased the intruder out of the house.
In the security footage, Doodle can be seen barking and growling at the bear as it curiously sniffed the domesticated animal. Doodle then calmly walked out of the room, with the bear following behind.
Cadman humorously recounted the incident in a Facebook post, describing the surreal experience of waking up to a bear rummaging through her fridge just 10 feet away from her bed. She admitted to roaring and running out the front door in panic, while brave Doodle saved the day by confronting the bear.
This heart-pounding encounter is reminiscent of a similar incident earlier this year in Kentucky, where homeowners were shocked when a black bear crashed through their ceiling. Authorities speculated that the bear had climbed a ladder and entered the attic before plummeting into the kitchen.
