Weegar: Aiming for the Playoffs

Florida Panthers defenseman MacKenzie Weegar is feeling confident about the team’s chances this upcoming season. In a recent interview, he expressed his belief that the Panthers have what it takes to make a playoff run.

Taking the Next Step

Weegar stated, “Absolutely. Now, if we can take another step, then we’ll be a playoff team. That’s how I look at it. I mean, we should have been a playoff team last year. And now, with basically the same team that we have, if everybody can take one little step forward, we’ll be in the playoffs and we’ll have an opportunity to fight for that Stanley Cup.”

Embracing the Grit

Weegar also emphasized the importance of the team’s mentality, saying, “There was a lot of talk of the culture and belief and grinding games away. Personally, for me, I love that mentality and I think we have a bunch of guys in that room that love that mentality. It’s not going to be the prettiest hockey all the time but if we can get the two points, that’s all that matters to us.”

Weegar praised his teammates for their unity and determination, stating, “I love running it back, so I think Wolfie said that perfectly right.” With a strong sense of camaraderie and a shared goal of making the playoffs, the Panthers are poised for success in the upcoming season.
