Trump to attend Yankees game in New York on 9/11 anniversary

President Donald Trump is set to make a historic appearance at the New York Yankees game in the Bronx on Sept. 11, the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to sources at Fox News Digital. The Yankees, currently in the midst of an intense AL East race, will be facing off against the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers in what could be a preview of the postseason.
This will mark Trump’s first time attending a baseball game during his second presidency. In the past, he has made appearances at various sporting events, including Game 5 of the World Series between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros in 2019, as well as the Astros-Braves World Series in 2021.
Despite plans to throw out the first pitch at a Yankees game in 2020, Trump was unable to do so due to the pandemic. Before his political career, he also attended Game 7 of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals at Shea Stadium.
In addition to his upcoming appearance at the Yankees game, Trump has been involved in the world of UFC, with fights scheduled to take place on the White House Lawn on July 4 next year in honor of the United States’ 250th birthday. The Yankees, who made it to the World Series last year but ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers, will also be playing a game on Sept. 11 next year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Sources have revealed that Vice President JD Vance will be representing the administration at a commemoration ceremony at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan, while Trump is scheduled to attend a memorial event at the Pentagon in northern Virginia earlier in the day.
Following the Yankees game, Trump will be attending the Ryder Cup in New York on Sept. 26, after recently making an appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup championship in July at MetLife Stadium.
