Mavericks star Luka Doncic latest pro athlete to have home burglarized

Luka Doncic’s Home Burglarized: Jewelry Valued at $30,000 Stolen
Luka Doncic, the talented guard for the Dallas Mavericks, has become the latest professional athlete to fall victim to a home burglary. The news was confirmed by his business manager, Lara Beth Seager, who informed various media outlets that there was a break-in at Doncic’s residence. The incident occurred on Friday night when nobody was home, prompting Doncic to file a police report.
According to the Dallas Morning News, jewelry worth approximately $30,000 US was reported stolen from Doncic’s home. This unfortunate event adds him to the list of six known pro athletes in the U.S. whose homes have been burglarized since October. Notable names such as NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, as well as Mahomes’ teammate Travis Kelce, have also experienced similar incidents. Additionally, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. have faced similar challenges.
Following these break-ins, both the NFL and NBA have issued security alerts to their players. The alerts highlight the increasing trend of professional athletes’ homes being targeted for burglaries by organized and skilled groups. The unsettling reality has forced players to confront a loss of privacy and security in their personal spaces.
For Burrow, acknowledging the break-in at his home was a difficult realization of the invasion of privacy. Similarly, Doncic, who hails from Slovenia, is now dealing with the aftermath of the burglary just two days after sustaining a left calf strain during a Christmas Day game against the Timberwolves. The injury is expected to keep Doncic out of action for approximately a month.
