Canada election: Singh set to speak in Edmonton as campaign enters home stretch

Liberal Leader Mark Carney is making his way to British Columbia today after a busy day of campaigning in Quebec. Yesterday, Carney made a stop at Chez Ben canteen in Granby, where he donned a hat before heading into the kitchen. According to La Presse Canadienne reporter Michel Saba, Carney jokingly compared himself to Donald Trump’s infamous photo-op at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
“I said I’m a little bit like Trump, a little bit like Trump at McDonald’s,” Carney quipped to a member of his team through the drive-thru window.
The “pool” media, a small group of videographers, photographers, and a reporter tasked with documenting campaign stops, were on hand to capture the moment. With 24 journalists accompanying Carney at the peak of his campaign this week, there is no shortage of coverage of his every move.
The standout photo of the day came from Carlos Osorio, who snapped a shot of Carney posing in front of the canteen’s sign for Reuters. Later that evening, Carney held a rally in Laval, where he reiterated his core message of “build, baby, build,” a clever twist on Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” slogan.
As Carney continues to crisscross the country in pursuit of votes, his campaign remains focused on engaging with Canadians and promoting his vision for the country’s future. Stay tuned for more updates as Carney’s campaign unfolds.
