Canada’s 3×3 basketball team beats Australia, advances to semifinals at Paris Olympics

Canada will play for an Olympic medal in women’s 3×3 basketball after downing Australia 21-10 in a play-in game Saturday.

Kacie Bosch put up a team-high nine points for the Canadians, who were in fourth after going 4-3 in preliminary-round action.

Australia — which finished the preliminary round in fifth spot — got five points from Anneli Maley.

The Canadians jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never trailed, even when Bosch was sidelined for several minutes after taking an elbow to the face that required medical attention on the sidelines, leaving her three teammates to play without a substitute.
