Canada’s most wanted fugitive arrested in Italy

The notorious leader of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM), Dave “Pik” Turmel, has finally been apprehended in Italy after being on the run for over a year. The 28-year-old fugitive was wanted by Quebec City police for charges including drug trafficking, conspiracy, and armed assault. Turmel, who was named the number 1 suspect of the Bolo Program last December, has been a key figure in the violent turf wars that have plagued Quebec, resulting in brutal acts of torture and amputation.

Turmel’s arrest comes as a major victory for law enforcement agencies, who had been on the lookout for him since July 24, 2023. The Bolo Program, a Canadian charity project aimed at alerting the public about dangerous criminals, had issued a red notice for Turmel through Interpol, urging law enforcement worldwide to locate and arrest him pending extradition or legal action.

The arrest of Turmel follows the capture of his alleged right-hand man, Roobens Denis, in Portugal last year. Denis, 31, was considered to be a key accomplice in Turmel’s criminal activities with the BFM. The second most wanted fugitive in Canada, All Boivin, is believed to be Turmel’s sidekick and is also implicated in the violent drug-related conflicts in Quebec.

Authorities have offered a reward of up to $250,000 for any information leading to the arrest of Boivin, with the deadline set for June 3, 2025. The Quebec City police have neither confirmed nor denied Turmel’s arrest in Italy, but sources have confirmed to Radio-Canada that he is currently in custody.

The capture of Dave “Pik” Turmel marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the criminal activities of the Blood Family Mafia and bring justice to the victims of their violent crimes. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
