Canadian teen Morales Williams wins 400m title at NCAA track and field championships
Christopher Morales Williams continued his winning ways at the NCAA track and field championships.
The 19-year-old sprinter from Vaughan, Ont., won the men’s 400-metre race on Friday night in 44.47 seconds at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Morales Williams, a sophomore running for the University of Georgia, beat Alabama’s Samuel Ogazi and Florida’s JeVaughn Powell.

Morales Williams also claimed the 400-metre title at the NCAA indoor track and field championships on March 9 in Boston with a time of 44.67 seconds.
The rising star won the 400 at the Southeastern Conference outdoor championships in a world-leading time of 44.05 seconds on May 11 in Gainesville, Fla.
The performance lowered Tyler Christopher’s 44.44 Canadian mark from 2005, reigning Olympic 100 silver medallist Fred Kerley’s meet record of 44.09 from 2017, along with his school’s and the facility’s records.
