Canadian women’s 3×3 team just 1 win away from clinching Olympic Games berth

The Canadian women’s 3×3 team are just one win away from clinching a spot at the Paris Olympic Games.

The team of Paige Crozon, Kacie Bosch, and twin sisters Michelle and Katherine Plouffe scored a 21-8 quarterfinal win over Italy on Sunday at a last-chance Olympic qualifier in Debrecen, Hungary.

Crozon and Katherine Plouffe both scored nine points in the win over Italy, which saw the Canadians roar out of the gate on a 9-1 run.

Canada will now play in the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. ET against Spain.

The top three finishers at the event will lock down spots at the Summer Games, which means semifinal winners automatically qualify for Paris 2024.

Canada finished atop Pool B with a perfect 3-0 record with round-robin wins over Chile (21-11), Lithuania (19-16), and Czechia (17-10).
