Canadiens rookie Emil Heineman injured after being struck by car

Montreal Canadiens Forward Emil Heineman Injured in Pedestrian Accident
Montreal Canadiens forward Emil Heineman will be sidelined for three to four weeks after he was involved in a pedestrian accident Monday night in Utah.
The Canadiens are currently in Salt Lake City, where they are set to face the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday.
According to the team, Heineman sustained an “upper body” injury in the accident. His agent, Marcus Isaksson, confirmed to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that Heineman injured his wrist when he was hit by a car.
Heineman, a 23-year-old left-winger, is in his rookie season with Montreal and has recorded 10 goals and seven assists in 41 games.
The Swedish forward was acquired by the Canadiens from the Calgary Flames in 2022 as part of a trade that included Tyler Pitlick, a conditional first-round pick, and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 draft. This trade sent forward Tyler Toffoli to the Flames.
Heineman was originally drafted in the second round, 43rd overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2020 NHL Draft.
