Candidates receive invitations in the eighth draw of the year of Prince Edward Island

New Invitations Extended by Prince Edward Island for Provincial Nomination
Prince Edward Island (PEI) recently announced the extension of invitations for foreigners to apply for provincial nomination. The province is specifically targeting candidates who are already residing and working in high-demand professions and sectors. Priority is being given to international graduates from selected universities and colleges.
So far in 2025, PEI has issued a total of 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Latest Drawing Results
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) issued a total of 132 ITAs through two pathways:
| Category | Number of Invitations Issued |
|---|---|
| Labor Impact/Express Entry | 132 |
Candidates working in sectors deemed crucial for the province’s economic growth and workforce needs were given preference. PEI has identified healthcare, finance, and manufacturing as high-demand sectors.
International graduates from specified post-secondary institutions such as the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’île were also prioritized in the selection process.
This marks the third draw of the year with these specific selection criteria.
Out of the 792 invitations issued this year, the majority are under the Labor Impact and PEI Express Entry streams, with a single invitation issued through the Work Permit stream.
Immigrating to PEI
The PEI PNP offers three immigration categories for individuals looking to settle in the province:
- Labor Impact
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Critical Worker Stream
- International Graduate Stream
- PEI Express Entry
- Business Impact
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for each category/stream and be admissible to Canada, in addition to fulfilling federal requirements if applicable.
Application Process
To be considered for any of the categories, candidates must create an account on the official PEI website and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The PEI Office of Immigration regularly reviews profiles in the EOI Pool to match the province’s economic and labor market needs.
Profiles in the PEI EOI pool are valid for up to six months, and candidates can have only one active profile at a time. Selected candidates will be invited to apply for provincial nomination.
Upon successful application review, nominees can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency. Those interested in the PEI Express Entry stream must also submit an EOI directly to PEI and have an Express Entry profile.
