Carney extends Canadian military mission in Latvia to 2029
Prime Minister Mark Carney has made the decision to extend Canada’s military presence in Latvia until 2029, as part of a strategic effort to deter Russian aggression in Europe. This mission, known as Operation Reassurance, has positioned Canada as a key player in the transatlantic alliance, with 2,000 Canadian Armed Forces troops currently stationed in Latvia.
