CDC removes COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for healthy kids, pregnant women

The COVID-19 vaccine recommendation for healthy children and pregnant women has been revised by health officials, according to the latest guidance. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made the announcement in a video released on Tuesday, revealing that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has removed the vaccines from the recommended immunization schedule for these specific groups.
In the video, Kennedy expressed concerns about the lack of clinical data supporting the need for additional COVID shots for healthy children. FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary and NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya also joined in, emphasizing that there is no evidence to suggest that healthy kids require the COVID vaccine. They pointed out that many countries have ceased recommending it for children, highlighting the shift in approach.
The decision to update the guidance is seen as a step towards fulfilling President Trump’s pledge to prioritize the nation’s health. The CDC had previously advised that individuals aged 6 months and older should receive the COVID vaccine. However, with the latest revision, the focus has shifted away from healthy children and pregnant women.
Fox News Digital reached out to Pfizer and Moderna for their response to the updated guidance, but no comments were provided at the time of reporting.
